Cooking for Carnivores

I always find it slightly amusing and somewhat condescending when people are amazed that I know how to cook meat. I mean, even if I never cooked meat a day in my life, there are.. the internet, recipe books, basic understanding of seasoning... jeeze.

Mawning everyone, I know I've been gone, but I've not been cooking much the past few weeks, so I didn't think my mundane daily reading and hammock swaying , or walking bout sessions would have been an interesting read.

Right now I'm in the sticks (the Brits would understand this), the Boondocks, and not the TV Show, or am I??? lol I'm in a small town in the You Ess Ay. I mean small, like, sometimes you will see a random ride-on lawn mower being driven on the road, trailer home type buildings on lots for sale. I'm half expecting to see someone looking like Andy Griffith in a floppy straw hat with a blade of hay in his teeth going to the olde fishing hole... ok I'm whole expecting it. Haven't seen it yet, but ....

I'm on lock-down, no local bus, no Uber, I've been told of two taxis and I'm wary of them both, the town area is not close enough to walk to, unless you're training for a walking marathon..is there even such a thing? If not, I claim invention of it, pay me. Holed up here with two teenage carnivores, who need to be fed and watered daily. It's been forever since I was a teen, but I'm trying to remember if I ate that much, and if I did, how can I do it again without gaining weight????
I kid, they aren't really hard to feed, meat and rice and they're pretty much happy... they also like fruit.....I just have to finesse the occasional vegetable in there and I'm thinking it'll all balance itself out.

It's official, Herbivores and Carnivores can live together in harmony. I've been cooking two meals, a veggie something for me, and whatever the meat of the day is, for them. So far so good. *knocks wood* It's not difficult, it's not that time consuming, it can be done. I think we sometimes stress ourselves out by overthinking things, (do I ever) and when we actually put it into practice, it's like "oh, ok, vibes".
There are also things that we all eat, like cinnamon toast and apple crumble. I have gluten free ingredients, and they don't seem to be bothered about them in the crumble, so tings nice.

One day, I was making wings for them and wondered what I should make for myself, then the thought of buffalo style cauliflower happened upon me. You basically make a batter, dredge the cauliflower in it, bake or fry, then toss it in buffalo sauce (pretty much just melted butter (butter sub) and hot sauce), they way you would make buffalo style wings. I was a bit skeptical, but it is delicious. Hand on heart. It's basically up to you to decide how firm you want the vegetable,  I like it with some bite to it. Definitely something I'll make again.  Tryyyyy it!
So far:
Carnivores                                                                                Herbivore
Brown Sugar Bacon                                                             Spinach and mushroom scrambled eggs
Wings                                                                                           buffalo style cauliflower
Pasta with meat sauce                                                       pasta with Kale and Spinach
baked chicken                                                                         roasted vegetables with hummus

I shall keep you updated.  Bear with me. I'm still here, thank you for being there :)
